Welcome to Florida. People love the water, ocean views are great so are lakes with various wild creatures.  Some folks like a preserve view, or a large privacy wall.  A stretch of grass or another beautiful home.  Some folks would prefer a canal view with an occasional manatee. I guess the thing to do in Florida is check out as many different views and lifestyles as possible then decide what's right for you..... Welcome to Sarasota. New residents will often not notice all that John Ringling did for our city.  I've gone to his church (built with excess circus equipment).  Had closings at the bank he founded and frequently visit the barrier islands he developed.  We all do.  But it wasn't until recently that I saw the homes he reportedly built for the little people in his employ. Welcome to Florida. When I started seeing golf cart garages, I thought "cute" but a little "weird".  Especially on a large home.  Sometimes a little garage has odd looking propertions - which is why so many builders simply opt for a third bay in the garage, even if it's just for a golf cart.
