What Land Can Be Developed in Florida?

Image
Welcome to Florida. Most people have forgotten that Boston is a city because the people in the area hauled all their trash into the marsh for a few generations, the water dried up and then somebody like me came along and starting building and selling homes on the former wetlands.   You can't technically do that anymore but, if you really want to be bored beyond the point of no return, ask me how wetlands trading credits work in the sunshine state and you'll hear some frightening similarities to the wetland treatment by Bostonians in the 1700s. It's not that bad, but with 400,000 people moving to the state every year we need to make sensible choices about raw land throughout Florida.  Occasionally, I will notice some pristine waterfront, have a glass of champagne and come up with what sounds like a great plan.  At least to me.....     Land planning with requisite glass of sparkling wine. Where Is Nokomis Beach?

Welcome to Sarasota. As a new comer to Sarasota, you are probably very familiar with Siesta Key Beach and have probably ventured out to Lido Beach and maybe even Longboat.  But if you're like most people it may take a year or two to discover Nokomis Beach. This beach is 12 minutes from my driveway and one of the absolute unspoiled gems in Sarasota County.   It's not crowded, is strikingly undeveloped and has some of the brightest water on the Suncoast.  I normally recommend folks take the Albee Road bridge to Casey Key and look for parking.  There is usually plenty, just don't tell anyone you heard about this beach from me, us locals are trying to keep it quiet! ;-) © John Gaudiano My Website

Welcome to Siesta Key. If you want to check out the quieter end of Siesta, known for peaceful private beaches and perfect for a winter getaway.  You owe yourself a look at Tortuga! ©John Gaudiano Sunny Siesta Key

Where Are The Best New Neighborhoods in Florida?

Welcome to the Sunshine State! When folks are first considering relocating to our state, it sometimes happens on their vacation.  Traveling through paradise they follow a billboard to a new development, have a couple meetings in a mobile office and sign a contract.  Sometimes, especially if they're dealing with a solid builder, a good result is achieved. But to really find out what is new and available, built by a solid company and ensure a happy outcome - there are a couple of guys you could call to do all the legwork for you and present you with several very good options. Or, you could follow a billboard off the highway and hope for the best. ©John Gaudiano Our Website
