Do You Worry About Storms?
Welcome to Paradise. When I first moved to Florida I endured 4 hurricanes in a single year, at one point it became comical as a storm literally passed over my home, went into the Gulf and then returned a couple of days later. Sidebar for newbies: that only counts as one storm. Our family does not evacuate, when our son was a baby we drove to Georgia once because Sunny had never been through a storm and believed the forecast ("largest storm in history which will forever change....."). Now, we don't believe the forecasts can be accurate at all so, we make sure we have batteries, gas, water and food. The plan is shelter at home and move to an air-conditioned B&B if we lose power. That's a solid plan. At least that was the plan. Now the plan is all that plus, get to the beach as close to the eye of the storm as possible.....
