What is the Most Popular Home Style in Florida?

Image
Welcome to Florida. When I first arrived in our country (I know that Florida is supposed to be part of the Unites States but most of us feel like there is America and then Florida, and that have very little to do with one another -  so please allow me this small indulgence), I lived in a pink building with a flat roof built in the 1960's.  I felt like I was in an old movie about Florida before developers got here.  I then moved to a modern place that surrounded by fences and alligators but was kind of small.   Then our son was born. For some reason a baby needs a ton of space, bedroom, playroom, extra playroom, large garage and yard with a clubhouse.  Well, we do have a baby friendly home now but I've seen babies in condos, blockhouses, wood frame camps and trailers.  So, in Florida there is no end to the varied home possibilities.....   Right now this might be my favorite. my website

Where is Turtle Beach?

I love Siesta Key! Our family spends time playing in the sand and we love to swim in the Gulf of Mexico this time of year when the water temperature doesn't dip below 85 degrees.  But, sometimes the main beach can be a bit crowded.  On those days we head to Turtle Beach. It's on the south end of Siesta and has the same sand.  Most people think it's just a campground but there is a large parking lot and beach access.  So if you are wanting to be on Siesta but have slightly more privacy then give Turtle Beach a try.  There is also a lagoon, boat launch and volleyball court.  Fun for all!! Is Taking The NASA Tour a Fun Day in Florida?

Image
Welcome to Florida. My family loves Florida attractions.  All of us are already planning the Lego trip and have been discussing it for almost two years.  Animal parks are favorites, so is Harry Potter at Universal.  What we don't like is NASA. And it's not because we never landed on the moon. It's because they haven't admitted is was staged to scare the USSR about our missile technology - which at the time couldn't hit the side of a barn.  But I do think they put on a good show but we'll be skipping it until they they use the words "elaborate" and "staged" in a press release.  I don't care how cool the property is.....

Where is Alligator Alley?

Image
Welcome to Florida. Turning 40 here is awesome because there are a bunch of things that you can do to prove you're not old.  Me?  I got my private pilot's license.  Seriously. The best part was the view flying down west coast.  I could spend everyday looking at that and never get bored.  Of course your instructor will require that you fly to the other coast and practice landings at some point but, that is also the only way to see alligator alley. It's exactly what it sounds like.  Tourists will drive it to see alligators while people like me fly over it (outside of chomping distance) to show it to out of town visitors.  Or, I could just post  picture on my blog and save us all some time and trouble.....

What is the best Suncoast Value right now?!?

Image
Welcome to the Suncoast. I have been hearing for decades that "Sarasota is expensive".  It's true that Sarasota is more expensive than some neighboring committees but, those values clearly justify themselves.  I have always liked Venice and especially enjoy Venice beach and downtown.  But for sheer "Wow! I can't believe I can afford that" there is only one place on the Suncast to go. North Port, Florida. Yes, it's two words (I think) and a tremendous value from Big Slough to family neighborhoods.  If a home in the sunshine is on your list and you have a budget to consider.  Please consider North Port.    My Website
