Is Taking The NASA Tour a Fun Day in Florida?

Welcome to Florida.

My family loves Florida attractions.  All of us are already planning the Lego trip and have been discussing it for almost two years.  Animal parks are favorites, so is Harry Potter at Universal.  What we don't like is NASA.

And it's not because we never landed on the moon.

It's because they haven't admitted is was staged to scare the USSR about our missile technology - which at the time couldn't hit the side of a barn.  But I do think they put on a good show but we'll be skipping it until they they use the words "elaborate" and "staged" in a press release.  I don't care how cool the property is.....

Did John Ringling Build Dwarf Houses For The Little People That Worked For Him?

Welcome to Sarasota. New residents will often not notice all that John Ringling did for our city.  I've gone to his church (built with excess circus equipment).  Had closings at the bank he founded and frequently visit the barrier islands he developed.  We all do.  But it wasn't until recently that I saw the homes he reportedly built for the little people in his employ. What Makes You The Happiest in Florida?

Welcome to paradise. The reasons for moving to Florida are about as varied as the people who move here.  But when talking to new residents, the weather is normally a factor even if it's not the biggest one.  I knew I was going to end up here when I was 10 years old and shoveling snow in mid-April.  That's not the life I wanted. Don't get me wrong, I had lots of great friends where I grew up and I'm a history nerd so being born in Wollaston (modern day Boston) was a point of pride to me.  Even though Wollaston was named after a pirate who was generally considered an undesirable.  But, seriously how many people do you know who grew up in a town named for a pirate?  There really aren't too many of us.
