What Is The Best Worst Real Estate Mistake in Sarasota?

Welcome to the Suncoast.

In business school we all learned about Levi Straus and his plans to make tents for gold rush adventurers in California.  Of course, that plan flopped and Levi had a bunch of extra denim he needed to get rid of so.....  Well, you probably know the rest of the story.

Here in Sarasota, technology at the time suggested that shaded brackish canals would be dug around Lido Key to try to control mosquitoes.  The plan didn't work but today there are several shallow, tree lined canals just a short paddle from the city and now they are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.  If you haven't been down one yet, please put it on your list.
