Is It OK To Serve Wine With Ice (in florida)?

Welcome to Florida.

I enjoy writing this blog and giving new residents a crash course of all things Florida.  The question posed above was recently asked of me, and to my surprise, it has not come up before in any of my written advice.  When I was fresh out of college I worked overseas and was always amused at the cultural faux pas incidents that I was continually on the giving or receiving end of...

(At a meeting that took place in the home of one of my coworkers to determine the biggest issue in front of us; he left his television on full blast turned to professional wrestling from the WWF.  Later, when we became very close friends I learned that, through some misunderstanding, he thought he was being extremely respectful of American Culture.  (I wish!))

On to wine.

It's warm in Florida in the summer.  I've lived places much warmer and my official policy is to never complain under 120 degrees.  But, if you are  spending an afternoon watching a 2 year year old play with a hose in August - your wine will be warm before you can finish it.  So the short answer is yes - ice cubes are not only welcomed THEY ARE REQUIRED.
