Are People Still Moving to Florida?

Welcome to Paradise.

When I was a kid, Florida was a fun place to visit during the winter as a break from the terrible ice and snow in my hometown.  I was told that you couldn't actually move full time to Florida because long distance calls were expensive and the majority of family lived in terrible weather.  Plus, people said Florida was too hot in the summer.

Fast forward to 2018 and my son talks to his grandparents on FaceTime everyday which is free, more and more people we know are moving to florida and we love the summers when the water temperature in the Gulf of Mexico is 88 degrees.

In fact, the state projects about 400,000 new residents will move here (again) this year.  Florida became more populous that New York two years ago and that trend continues.  So yeah, people are still moving here.

A lot.

There may be some growing pains along the way, but it'll be fine in the end.  Kind of reminds me of the family portrait we took this year, on Siesta Beach.  We asked our three year old to run to his mom and jump into her arms.  He ran full speed, went past her, waved and ran another 100 yards before we could catch him.  Like the population growth here, it was a bit chaotic but, super fun at the same time.

Plus, it all happened on the beach...... in December!!!
