What is the Best Home Improvement to do in 2015?

Many times when people first move to Florida, they try to make their new home, resemble their old home that was in the North or, previous country. That explains the fairly new prevalence of two story homes throughout the state.
At one point, it also meant that new residents would remove all the white cabinets in the kitchen and replace them with cabinets of a color that was more popular in the place they came from. Of course, occasionally I will be asked for my recommendation for the first home improvement and the my answer is always the same.
Improve your pool.
If you don't have one, get one - if you already have one, add new stonework or, a spa or, resurface the entire structure. We're in Florida, we can use our pools 365 days a year. And most of us do. The patio may be larger than your home and almost certainly where you will spend many entertaining days. So walk outside and decide exactly what improvement you will make to your lanai or loggia.
